Most people text. I like the phone because there's an element of surprise to a call. I try to answer right away—one or two rings, three max.
I picked up when award-winning, small agency BPN called. When Los Roast rang, I said yes to becoming a roaster at Portland's New Mexico Chile Company. Then did everything from roasting to jarring, sampling, and selling the stuff. I took orders and packed pallets; made sauces and local deliveries.
Before that, Instrument, a digital design studio, dialed in, asking me to write social and web copy. I stuck around to make websites, videos, and digital experiences.I moved from Portland to the Bay Area (BSSP, line one), then back to Portland, where I went to W+K 12. I've freelanced and worked full-time. I write headlines and pitches. I develop concepts for creative directors and clients.
